Little scare

All was well in the household going into last week. Both kitties were thriving, I was really busy with wedding, work, and regular chores. (I'm leaving for Mexico this week so there was plenty to do.)

As I expressed Remy Wednesday morning, I noticed a couple of drops of blood in his urine. My heart sank. Now, he's acting normally, just previous night had had chased a bug! He's not acting sick at all. I had to go to work, especially since I already had a vacation planned. I called and made an apt with the vet. When I got home, he had bled/peed through his diaper onto the wee pad. I rushed him to the vet even though his apt wasn't for another 2 hours. The vet sees him, says basically that there are a number of factors that can cause it, need to do a urine sample and put him on antibiotics. (The vet was actually surprised that it hadn't happened sooner in his condition.) I've been forcing the antibiotic down his throat 2 times a day since Wednesday. He doesn't like it. And it doesn't seem to agree with stomache either, he's thrown up several times over the weekend but there's no more blood in his urine! Otherwise, his personality is unchanged. He eats all his food and MEOWS for attention everytime he sees me.

Sometime next week, while I'm in Mexico and he's at the doctor, he'll get another urine sample to see if its all clear or if he needs to stay on the antibiotics for a little while longer. I'll post after....

MEEOOOOWWWWW!!!!

Poor Remy must be so bored in his crate! At night while we're sleeping he keeps waking us up with MEEOOOWWW after MEEEOOOOOOWWWWW!!!!! I have tried squirting him with water, over feeding him and still.... I wish I had more time to devote to him! It's not easy dealing with a handicapped cat. :( Other then that, both of them are fine. I have to get better ear plugs, lol!

Exciting news!

I've been really busy lately and this news is not in regards to the cats :) I'm engaged! It wasn't really a surprise, especially since he asked me for my input on the ring since I'm so picky but the one he had originally picked out is the one I absolutely loved! Now we're getting accostomed to the idea and starting to throw some wedding ideas around. So that's why there has been a delay in posting.

The kitties are good. Remy was one of those cats that would come to me in the mornings and lick me until I gave him attention and he's slowly starting to lick again every time I go near him. But I was surprised to find out that he does that to the techs at the vet when I leave him there :) I was a little upset since now I know he doesn't love just me and very happy because they're also taking care him lovingly.

Gitana went back to step one with the litter kwitter system. She just didn't want to poop in the toilet! I really don't want to go back to a traditional litter box and be stuck cleaning it all the time and have the gravel spread throughout the house, so I'm still trying...

Have a great weekend everyone!

Heavy snow here!

And my office is open :( I was waiting this morning to get a call or text stating otherwise, no luck, ugh! Remy and Gitana are comfy and warm at home and, even tho I'm warm here in the office, I'll be freezing my a$$ off during the commute.

The kitties are doing well, pampered and fed. Gitana has a new thing that at night she tries to get into my closet by scratching under the door. The noise wakes me up and I have to coax her to come and cuddle with me instead... Her tummy has def gotten rounder since Remy can no longer reach her food but she's not overweight. No advances in her toilet training. I'm thinking of going back to step 1.

Nothing new going on with Remy, he's the same, two legged cat, all in all, he's happy. I wish I had more time to dedicate to try to train him to walk again. The technicians at Tabby's Place (http://www.tabbysplace.org/ - they have a paralyzed kitty who appeared on the news and on Zootoo) train Tashi 3 times a day! Having a paralyzed animal is not an easy feat, you are confined, must express them in certain time limits, give them extra attention, I wonder how long I can keep it up! but I look at that face and wonder how can I live without it....

One day at a time! And today, Remster is getting a bath! :)

No news is good news

... especially with everything going on in the world! No updates really. Both the kitties are fine and Gitana is using the toilet more and more and the bathroom floor less!

On the other hand, I found an article on Zootoo about Caboodle Ranch and was amazed about the man behind it. If you get the chance, go to http://caboodleranch.livejournal.com/ and www.caboodleranch.com, its very heart warming!
